In my last post, I told you everything HHF IS about. But for a different spin on things, what is it NOT about?

oooo that’s new.

First up, the one I stress the most, and the main thing it’s not about:

It’s NOT about weight loss. Nope. There’s plenty of programmes out there promoting body transformations and bikini bodies, but I’m sorry, (actually, I’m not) that’s not this one. They do work for many people, and that’s great, but after years myself of fighting with the scales that just won’t move, and hating myself for it, I’ve given up.

Ok, not I’ve not given up, but I’ve learnt that even though the scales won’t budge, I’m fitter and stronger than I’ve been in years, and I know I’m making the right changes, so I’ve shifted my focus. And the word is starting to spread – scales can be evil bastards. You can be happy, healthy and fit, despite what they say.

So it’s NOT about weight loss. Did you catch that?

It can still be one of your goals, sure, and I will celebrate with you when it happens, but our focus will be on the lifestyle changes you need to make to actually get there. I will pop up a tracking sheet for you/us to track your weight and measurements, if the ladies participating would like it, and if you are local (Tauranga) You can even come see me and I will track your measurements – start, middle and the end. But we still will be focusing on the habits that need to change to get you there. I have ladies doing this with me who don’t even want to lose weight. There’s even been a couple doing it that wished to GAIN weight!

So yeah. It’s not about the scales.

It’s also not a 1 size fits all kinda thing. The basic checklist you get – sure. But if there’s parts to it that you literally cannot do (doesn’t happen often AT ALL) or if you are combining it with a way of eating that you’re already doing that is going great, then that’s ok.

But we can chop and change things where we need to. It has to work for YOU.

The same goes for exercise. You might already have an amazing programme/trainer – that’s cool. We can focus on the rest of the programme, and integrate it with what’s already working for you.

It’s not a meal plan

Why’s that? Well, for a start – I’m not a qualified Dietician. I’m not even a Nutritionist. And who am I to tell you what to eat? I don’t know what you like and don’t like, nor do I know if you have any allergies! What I WILL do, however, is give you access to over 200 recipes (more being added each month), complete with a macronutrient break down (tells you how many calories, how much fat, protein and carbohydrates a meal has) and how to learn to track all of this YOURSELF.

Give a (wo)man a fish, and you feed him (her) for a day. Teach a (wo)man to fish, and you feed him (her) for a lifetime.

Because if I just tell you what to eat, you’re never going to actually learn how to feed yourself once you’re not following my meal plan! So why not teach you to do all of this yourself? Makes sense, huh?

It’s not a drop and run programme.

I’m not going to send you the instructions, then run away and leave ya to it. No, Ma’m. I’m with you all the way. I chat to you DAILY in our group, and weekly we will talk 1-1 as well, to really make sure that you’re coping, that you know what you’re doing, and what you need to do more of to get to where you need to be. With you the whole way, my friend. I want you to get the best results possible, and so I’m right there – ready to chat whenever you want me.

Finally, it’s not a hardcore diet or exercise plan.

It’s really not. I’ve said before, it’s all about starting wherever YOU are, I don’t expect you to jump head first into a full on diet or expect you to go crazy on the exercise. Gentle, gradual steps that lead to a life long change.

Why change your lifestyle, if it’s only for 10 weeks? Why make crazy, drastic changes if you can’t commit to them for life? What’s the point?

I want to coach you to, again, learn to live a life that you can carry on FOR life. Not for 10 weeks. Not a year. FOREVER. Slow and steady wins the race, and all that.

So not a get skinny quick, hard core programme.

I hope this gives you a good vision of how I can help you. I’ve stuck at this programme for 2 years now, and every round I tweak it a little more, perfect it a little further. It’s already pretty awesome, but I want it to be even better.
